Hi everyone! First off we want to say thank you so much for following along on our adoption journey. We are so excited for what the Lord has in store for our family and can’t say enough how much we appreciate you all!

Justin and I have always known we wanted to have children even before we met.  After being married for two years, enjoying just the two of us and Justin finishing up his master’s degree, we thought it was the perfect time to start a family.

We were told by multiple people that it could take anywhere from six months to a year to conceive so we didn’t start seeking out doctor’s help until after it had been well over a year.  I remember the first time our Obgyn told us there was really nothing else he could do for us that we would have to be referred to a fertility specialist.  We were scared and felt completely defeated, now what?!  Fast forward to today, five years later. We have been to two different fertility specialist where we were diagnosed just to find out we were misdiagnosed then onto a completely different diagnosis, multiple IUI‘s, procedures, medication, a failed attempt at IVF, and a surgery later we have yet to become pregnant.

Through all of this we feel so blessed to have grown closer together as a married couple and we continue to strive to keep Christ the center of our marriage.  We have learned so much through this entire process but the most exciting of all is the opportunity to, one day, hopefully soon adopt a child.  We without doubt, know that God wants us to pursue adoption.

We have such a strong passion and love for the beautiful picture that is adoption.  Adoption is simply an overflow of what God has done for us.   Adoption is the admission of a believer into the family of God. Here are a few pieces of scripture about adoption and why it’s so incredibly important to us.

Matthew 25:40

And the king will answer them, truly, I say to you, as you did it to one of the least of these my brothers, you did it to me.

Matthew 18:5 Whoever receives once a child in my name receives me.

1 Samuel 1:27

I prayed for this child, and the Lord has granted me what I asked of him.

Psalm 82:3

Defend the weak and the fatherless; uphold the cause of the poor and the oppressed.

Proverbs 31:8-9

Speak up for those who can’t speak for themselves, for the rights of all who are  destitute.  Speak up and judge fairly; defend the rights of the poor and needy.

Deuteronomy 10:18

He executes justice for the orphan and the widow, and shows his love for the alien by giving him food and clothing.

Every child deserves and his worthy of being a part of a family.  We have so much love to give!  Thank you again for your constant love, support, and prayers. we feel so encouraged by them.

Much Love,

Justin and Miranda Oglesby
